Definition
It is an irreducible hernia with arrested blood supply, and can turn gangrenous if intervention was not implemented as soon as possible.
The patient will usually present with severe pain
Sonographic findings
Hyperechoic in appearance
Thickening of hernia wall sac
Loss of normal bowel peristalsis or movement of the herniated content.
Absent blood flow on color Doppler
